About Me
My name is Jenna and I am in my eleventh year of Girl Scouts. As an active scout, I have volunteered countless hours toward many community service projects and have earned enough badges and patches to fill four vests. In my younger ranks, I completed my bronze and silver awards which were service projects totaling more than 75 hours. As a high school student, I will spend the next year on my gold award project. Since this project requires hours of dedication, it was important that I choose a topic that I truly enjoy. I have a strong passion for music and want to share that joy with younger students. I am excited to implement this project and help aspiring elementary and middle school musicians to explore and continue with the music program through high school and beyond.
My Team
As part of this project, I have a supportive leadership team. My band director at Hammond High School, Mr. Stephen Dunlap, will assist me with cleaning and repairing instruments, as well as creating lessons for students. I will also be working with Tri-M Music Honor Society members at Hammond High, who will receive service hours for teaching lessons in their instrument section. The Tri-M advisor, Elizabeth Reinhardt, will aid as needed. In addition, I have the support, guidance and supervision of both Bollman Bridge ES and Patuxent Valley MS band directors, Mr. John Butte and Ms. Cara Tracy. For the creation of the recruitment video, I will receive assistance from music department students at Hammond High School.
